Sober Living Homes

Sober Living Homes

A Safe, Structured, and Supportive Recovery Environment

Sober living homes are apartment-style residences that offer clients in early recovery the supportive environment they need to reintegrate back into the rigors of daily post-treatment life. Sober living programs are safe, moderately-structured, typically overseen by a house manager, and also shared with the client’s recovering peers. The level of client monitoring, programming, and regulation is considerably less structured than primary or extended care. In fact, studies conclude that this kind of ongoing, structured support promotes lifelong sobriety. experiential therapy

The Role of Sober Living

Addicts in early recovery often require a sober living environment to help them acclimate to the stressors and challenges of returning to the “real world”. Living amongst like-minded recovering peers offers a level of camaraderie and support that can be instrumental in maintaining as well as strengthening sobriety. Clients also develop and work on basic skills such as personal hygiene, housekeeping, money management, job interviewing. And because clients share common experiences and goals, they form bonds of support that can last a lifetime. The ultimate goal of sober living is to provide a smooth and seamless transition into a life of independence, fulfillment, as well as purpose.
